Standing Rock Tribal Man

Well the Tribal Man knows

He’s seen civilizations come and go

His strength will be the same

His powers will remain

He sees through all the lies

He hides it in his eyes

Though his face may seem a mask

He knows the truth and he inner laughs

He’s a Tribal Man

Living on tribal land

He knows the pipeline kills

From his home up in the hills

The Tribal Man gathers

To protect the living waters

He’ll be standing clean and strong

Until the contractors are all gone

He’s the front line of humanity

There must be something here we can’t see

He’s a Tribal Man

Protecting his own land

Tribal Sister sitting there

Braiding ribbons into her hair

Watching young ones run around

Mother’s been brought to town

A grenade took off her arm

She won’t be working back on the farm

See the troops come round the hill

Do they have a tribal family to kill?

Because they’re Tribal Man

They just don’t understand

There’s no room in The Plan

For a Tribal Man

See the chopper flying by

It’s a spy eye up in the sky

Stealing signals from the phones

Sending orders out to the drones

Because they’re gathering in the yards

They’re talking fast and looking hard

Something’s got to pop

Then Tribal Man will be on top

He’s Tribal Man

And this is his last stand

He’s gotta get back his land

For a Tribal Man
